Publisher's device on title page. Breuhaus was an architect, interior designer, and designer. In 1929 he added "de Groot" to his name referencing it with being the great-grandson of the Dutch painter Breuhaus de Groot.

The book introduces a broad selection of Breuhaus homes and country houses for the upper-class, with the exception of of a conversion of an building designed by the architect Schinkel into a student house, the palace of Kemal Atatürk in Erdine, settlements in Anatolia, administrative buildings in Turkey and Berlin, a bank building in Ankara, the interior of the steamship "Bremen" and the project Breuhaus is best known for, the interior of the airship "Hindenburg" at rear.

The so-called "flying hotel" had two floors connected by a stairway with the lower stairway being used for debarking. The upper floor contained 25 double sleeper-cabs with running hot and cold water and immersible sinks. The upper bed was a foldaway while the lower bed could be turned into a comfortable couch during daytime. On both sides of the cabins 15 meter long promenades with tilted cellon windows provided a spectacular view for the passengers. The lower deck contained a smoking room, a bar, baths, kitchen and the wardrooms for officers and the crew. Furniture of the accommodations were built with various aluminum alloys and the walls of the lounges were stretched silk, the smoking room walls were built with silver-plated leather.

Profusely illustrated with impressive b/w photographs of interiors and exteriors of residential homes as well as architectural plans and four color reproductions watercolors.
