The school regulations were approved on August 26, 1835 by the Royal Great-British- Hannover Bailiwick, who reserved the right to change them at any given time: as printed on page eight with decorative device encircling the initials L.S.

The first article of the twenty-four regulations announces that it has been decided at the Royal residence to establish a school for the children of Jewish believers. In consultation with the Landesrabbiner, the Elders of the local Jewish community and the specially elected representative, the approval of the Royal Ministry of the Interior was given, to publish the twenty-four articles regulating the new school. The number of teachers, the quota of school hours, financial and other matters are determined in these articles.

The Hannover Landdrostei was an intermediate institution between the Hannover Kingdom and the Prussian Province Hannover. The regulations considerably limit Jewish rights only a few years after the Jews of Germany were granted full equality by Napoleon. Text in German. Title page rubbed with light smudging at bottom.
