I have discovered that it was composed of a number of elements: 1) large sections of Bagrow's history of cartography; 2) large sections of Bagrow's 1945 article on Ptolemy; 3) portions of several other articles which have appeared in Imago Mundi, notably those in volumes XI, XIII and XVI; and 4) a manuscript concerned directly with the history of Russian cartography. (Henry W. Caster). History of Russian cartography up to 1800 by Leo Bagrow, the founder of the journal Imago Mundi. Extraordinary publication compiled by Caster after the death of Bagrow in 1957. Beautifully illustrated with a multitude of extraordinary maps with text describing historical indications. Contains lists of figures, tables, sections with footnotes, glossary, bibliographies, abbreviations and indices. From the library of Norman J. W. Thrower, name inked to front free endpapers.
