Original string-bound three-quarter brown cloth portfolio with gilt ruling and black lettering and publisher's device on cover, gilt lettering on spine. Title page contains publisher's device. Extensive collection of classical and new ornamentation representing the daily practice of sculptors. They were selected based on the requirements of the present time. The ornamentation exhibited here presents architectural details for interior architecture, decorative arts and crafts with imagery rendered lithographically. The ninety-six plates were originally issued in six installments by the publisher. No captions as issued. Text in German. Front and back cover loose with original spine separated but present. Strings partially missing and covers heavily rubbed with some light staining. There are some ten pages with chipping, e.g. plate 47 with 6 1/2 x 1/2" chip, others with smaller chips, some plates with small water stains and latter plates with sprayed ink at lower margins, not affecting imagery but one plate peripherally. Some of the plates age-toned in margins, images in very good+ condition. Portfolio in poor condition. poor to vg+. Item #48172
