Original illustrated paper sleeve with blue and black lettering on cover, protected by modern mylar. Ten striking silver gelatin prints depicting various scenes in the streets of Paris during the fight for the liberation of the city. Housed in a sealed three-color illustrated paper sleeve depicting the four flags of the Allies, USA, Great Britain, Soviet Union and Franch. Captions on verso in French and English, two in French only. The images shown are: Parade of German prisoners on Rue Meyerbeer; A German officer captured at the Meurisse -Hotel; A group of German Prisoners near Place Vendome; The people during the fight at the Place de Republique; Rue de Rivoli, after the passage of General De Gaulle the people seek protection from shots from the roofs; Leclerc's armored vehicles in action on Avenue de l'Opéra during the attack on the command post; The first German prisoners coming out of the command post on Place de l'Opéra; Chateaudun crossroads barricade in front of the office of the Communist Party; The imposing parade of German prisoners on the Boulevards; German prisoners on the Rue du 4-Septembre. Text in French and English. Sleeve intact with seal on back. Light wear along edges, chips along top and one and a half inch closed tear near seal on verso.
