London: Frederick Warne and Co., [ca.1887]. Hardcover. Small square octavo. 55pp. [1]. Green buckram over illustrated tan, green, and red paper boards. Decorative green and white endpapers. A collection of Aesop's fables for children, delightfully illustrated by acclaimed British artist Walter Crane (1845-1915). The illustrations are all woodcut engravings in color by noted printer Edmund Evans (1826-1905). No date is printed, so the edition is uncertain, but we beleive this to be the the 1887 first Warne edition. Binding with with some rubbing to extremities, as well as some minor staining along the tail of the spine. Interior bright and clean, apart from a few minor sporadic smudges in the margins. Binding in good, interior in very good+ condition overall. g to vg+. Item #47791
