This finely produced monograph on the work French cubist painter André Lhote (1885 -1962) contains text by French poet and art critic Alexandre Mercereau (1884-1945), and is accompanied by a total of 22 interleaved tipped in plates of art by Lhote. Of these plates, all of which are tissue-guarded, 19 are b/w or sepia-toned reproductions, mostly printed in collotype. There are three additional color plates, 2 of which are striking original pochoirs signed by Lhote. The text contains biographical information and critical analysis, and is followed by a chronological list of the artist's work.

Wrappers with some light age toning and light staining to the covers. Spine with creasing, as well as some chipping to the head and tail. Interior with some light scratches to the front free endpaper. Pages throughout with some sporadic minor smudges or stains. Art, images, and text throughout clean and bright.
