Contains twenty original linocuts by Pierre-Louis Flouquet, including the frontispiece for the play "La Cité Moderne," illustrating an essay by Camille Pouquet on the European theater scene in Russia and Germany, England, Belgium, and France. The work describes and illustrates productions by Stanislavsky, Reinhardt, and Meyerhold, among others, including the Russian and French avant-garde theater. The linocuts include portraits of Stanislavsky, Reinhardt, and Meyerhold, and depictions of stage designs by Stepanova, Vesnine, Babitch, Mouncis, Rabinovitch, Leger, and Flouquet, among others. Text in French. Wraps with small chips along edges, some medium on front cover. Spine with two inch chip at top and some smaller ones below.
