Collection of watercolors by French artist Henry d'Anty depicting his neighborhood of Monmatre, the fauna, the people, habits and the hideouts. Illustrated with nine large color offset reproductions (9 3/4 x 9") of his work and three smaller watercolors (app. 4 1/2 x 3 1/4"), with printed captions and pasted to glossy paper. In addition numerous in-text color and b/w photographs and artwork. Laid in a facsimile of a double page letter d'Anty wrote to his mom when he was thirteen years old, printed to illustrated green paper. Text in French, English and German. Pages wavy at front and back near spine due to water exposure, and starting at upper half after page with printed dedication by Jean Cocteau.
