Zwischen gestern und morgen (Between Yesterday and Tomorrow. Election Pamphlet of the NSDAP)

Leipzig: August Grübbel, 1932. First edition. Softcover. Quarto. 14pp. Original illustrated tan wraps with black lettering and Swastika on cover, protected by modern mylar. An NSDAP election pamphlet intended to show the suffering of the German people from the "domination of Marxism and the Zentrum Party" (Hitler) in part one, and the program of the National Socialists in part two. Illustrated with photographs, photo-montages and one caricature, with images on every page.

Part one shows reproductions of b/w photographs, photo-montages and one caricature, documenting the "nightmare" Germany is suffering from due to the oppressors of Germany after the Versailles Treaty. It shows the Zentrum politician Matthias Erzberger, Jews in politics and police: Rathenau, Hilferding and Dr. Weiß; agitates against the "Jew" and "Fake" Press (Judenpresse - Lügenpresse), representatives of the so-called cultural Bolshevism, Erich Kästner, Magnus Hirschfeld, and a photograph showing police beating students demonstrating in Berlin on June 28, 1929 against consequences of the Versailles Treaty, headlined "The Baton, a post-revolutionary achievement." This section closes with slander of current politicians like Heinrich Brüning, Otto Braun, and Wilhelm Groener.

Part two of the pamphlet starts with diagrams showing the dramatic rise of National Socialists during the 1932 state elections in Prussia, Oldenburg, Mecklenburg and Hessen, followed by the program of the NSDAP: Unser Programm (Our Program) on verso. As in part one, mainly illustrated with b/w photographs accompanied by slogans and captions. The program starts with the demand to reverse the Versailles Treaty, followed by the slogan for a Greater Germany and the return of the lost colonies to Germany, laid out on two pages. The next page demands the protection of the German border, the abolishment of special interests and the separation of church and state, followed by a page on job creating measures and housing for the workers. Two additional pages address the communist threat, political prisoners, the victims of war, and ending with a call for the National Revolution. The last two pages feature a full page portrait of Hitler, and a group of young soldiers showing the Nazi Salute captioned "Ours is the Future" and "Vote for National Socialists."
