Geneva: NP, 1945. First French-language edition. Softcover. Large quarto (11 1/2 x 8 3/8"). [1], 7, 55, [1], 26 leaves. Original tan printed wrappers, protected by modern mylar.

Published a few months after the end of WWII, this work is a collection of some of the first testimonies of survivors of the extermination camps of Theresienstadt, Posen, and the nearby Radziwill Fortress and Antonienhof.

Each testimony presents a vivid eyewitness account of a nightmarish journey through the horrifying experiences of the Holocaust in Theresienstadt (located in the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia) as well as in Posen and its vicinity (territory annexed by Nazi Germany and made part of Reichsgau Danzig-West Prussia and Reichsgau Wartheland).

Originally published in German, "L'Extermination des Juifs dans les Camps Allemands" is the first French-language edition of a report compiled by Hans Klee. The introduction was written by Dr. Abraham Silberscheim, who, prior to the outbreak of World War II was the head of the Jewish cooperative movement in Galicia, Poland. Dr. Silberschein played an important role during the war in rescuing Jews from Nazi-occupied Poland through underground activities which he directed from Geneva.
