Folio. 136, 136pp. Original decorative wrappers with gold lettering and color photographic reproduction on front cover, protected by modern mylar. A striking two volume history of German film by film historian and producer Oskar Kalbus. The first volume is devoted to the German films of the silent era, while the second volume deals with the German film industry since the arrival of sound. Includes a section at the end of volume 2 featuring National Socialist films since Adolf Hitler's rise to power ("SA-Mann Brand", "Hans Westmar", Hitlerjunge Quex.") Text in German, gothic script.
