Brentwood: NP, 1799. Manuscript. Softcover. Octavo (8 x 6"). [1] leaf, 48pp. Original sewn gray heavy handmade paper, with handwritten lettering in ink to front cover "Jeremiah Rowe of Brentwood," and back cover "Rowe Jeremiah."

This unique manuscript on surveying (measuring land) showcases the importance of the early surveys of property to New England. Its author is Jeremiah Rowe III (1771-1854) from Brentwood, New Hampshire.

The manuscript comprises 48 hand-numbered pages, of which the first ten are entirely devoted to geometrical problems, and feature 12 drawn geographical figures. The largest section, from page 11 to 48, is devoted to surveying, and contains numerous drawn tables and geographical figures.

Wrappers foxed, with sporadic closed tears along edges. Wrappers in overall good-, interior in very good
