This splendidly produced early 19th century 4-volume set of Cervantes' "Don Quixote" is lavishly illustrated throughout with 24 engravings (6 per volume) after drawings by well-known English artist and illustrator Richard Westall (1765-1836), best known for his portraits of Lord Byron. Westall was also Queen Victoria's drawing master.
Moderate and sporadic rubbing along edges of bindings. Previous owner's armorial bookplate on inside of each front cover (Randle Leigh, M. D.). Minor and sporadic foxing throughout. Some foxing to plates. Bindings in overall good, interior in good+ to very good condition. g to vg. Item #45448
