This work discusses in gruesome detail the horrifying experience of victims in Majdanek concentration Camp, near Lublin, Poland, written by Ludwik Christians, who served as president of the Polish Red Cross in the Lublin district (1941-1944). The author describes the conditions in the camp and his experiences working for the Red Cross during the war and in the aftermath of its liberation by the Soviets in July of 1944. The book is illustrated throughout with 42 sepia-toned photogravure reproductions of images of the camp, its prisoners and the aftermath of its liberation, with all the evidence of Nazi murder, destruction and carnage that took place there.

Interior with a few closed tear in the margins of a few pages. Age toning to the edges of pages. Wrappers in good- condition, interior in very good- condition overall. Ludwik Christians (1902-1956), was a Polish lawyer, politician, activist and academic. Before WWII he received a law degree from the University of Lublin, and practiced law, as well as becoming active in local politics. He served as president of the Polish Red Cross in the Lublin district (1941-1944) during the war. From 1945-1946 he served as President of the board of the Polish Red Cross nationally, and then returned to his law practice.
