Nacktkultur: Eine Volksschrift

Düsseldorf: Jugendführungsverlag, 1926. First edition. Hardcover. Octavo. 176pp. Original red cloth with yellow lettering on cover and spine. Pro nude culture stance delivered by Ph. Küble, defining human beings as "Light-Lust-Beings", citing H. Suren: "The beautiful brown skin should be the passionate wish of every human being, and the future will look at our people as the sun-browned cultural nation." Immediately following the Suren quote the author gets himself into hot water according to our standards: "Why not go as far as pitch black like the Negro? Frankly speaking, such ideals are hardly alluring, since we are used to superior standards. We think of the future of our people differently. We fight for a physically and mentally healthy people, which is hardened through harmonic body and mind culture, and mentally and ethically superior, honoring the German morals to the max." The book treats the health aspect of nude culture through gymnastics on one hand, and the moral aspects, the sense of shame, its origin and usefulness as well as the effect of nude culture on the person and society. Text in German, Gothic script. Binding with very light wear along edges, lightly rubbed and lettering on spine lightly faded. Small dealer sticker on inside front cover at top left. Binding in overall good+, interior in very good condition. g+ to vg. Item #45174
