With a preface by SS-Obergruppenführer Lorenz on the resettlement of the Germans into the Eastern part of Europe, and contributions by H. Kurz, Governor in Krakow, Alfred Karasek, regional agent on the staff for relocation, and Otto Engelhardt-Kyffhäuser.

German propaganda publication after the outbreak of W.W.II describing the relocation of Germans to Volhynia and Galicia (Ukraine) and the liquidation of the Polish state. The task for the Germans, as Kurz puts it, is to be the masters of the Polish and Ukrainian people. Karasek states that after the arrival of the Germans in Volhynia and Galicia "we heard the hundred fold call of German people across the new borders, and watched the urging wait of our brothers in Soviet Russia." His words harbingers of the events to unfold, the attack of Soviet Russia by the Germans, describing the resettlement during the period from early December 1939 into the second half of January 1940.

Excerpts of dramatic everyday experiences from the diary of Otto Engelhardt-Kyffhäuser conclude the text part of this publication. All three contributions are illustrated with in-text drawing by Engelhardt-Kyffhäuser, followed by thirty-two color plates of German peasant in Volhynia and Galicia, all with descriptive captions. Text in German, Gothic script. DJ with light wear along edges, small chips, rubbing and very light scuffing at edges, head and tail of spine. Very light staining on back cover.
