(62pp. in Hebrew numerals) + 146pp. Photo-illustrated orange, black and tan wrappers. This is the third and final annual issue from the initial run of the Hebrew-language motherhood guides, this one for the year 1935-1936. It is believed that they were only ever three issues published in this initial run, before a similar annual series was published in the 1940s.
Published during the period of British Mandatory Palestine by Histadrut's (General Organization of Workers in Israel) Health Fund, and edited by Dr. Yosef Meir head of the health fund, and Dr. Yisrael Rivkai a leading pedagogue of the time, the book was a result of new attitudes and advances in western medicine and hygiene, as well as desire to educate ad influence women's pregnancy and childcare decisions in the Yeshuv. The publication covers a wide variety of topics ranging from parenting, pediatrics, obstetrics, breast-feeding, family life, early childhood education, mental health, and countless other related topics. The content is provided through literary and visual means, with articles, poems, and excepts from Jewish texts. The book is illustrated throughout with b/w photographic reproductions. Also included throughout are illustrated advertisements for all manner of related and relevant products and services.
