Commemorative book published to celebrate the 6th anniversary of the Second Spanish Republic founded in 1931. At the time of its publication, the Republicans had been engaged into a fight to the death with Franco's nationalist army for about a year.
In these circumstances, the book is largely aimed at galvanizing the spirits of the population in Republican Spain. It contains numerous b/w illustrations and photographic reproductions of the major Republican protagonists in the founding of the Republic, as well as military leaders.
The first part is devoted to the history of the founding of the Second Spanish Republic; The second part deals with the Republic under attack by the fascists.
