Divided into six parts looking at German and International propaganda broadsides and posters (from the point of view of Goebbels' Propaganda Ministry): Part 1 deals with the poster from ancient times to W.W.I. Part 2 anti-German propaganda by the West-Allies and German propaganda during World War I. Part 3 with the Freikorps posters 1918/19.
Part 4 with the internal politics influencing the propaganda poster from 1919 to 1933. Part 5 covers the posters of the individual parties, including those of the NSDAP. Part 6 juxtaposes effective and ineffective posters.
Profusely illustrated with reproductions of posters and broadsides in vibrant colors rendered lithographically, in b/w offset & duo-tone. "Die Kunst des Plakates liegt in der Fähigkeit des Entwerfers, durch Form und Farbe die Menge aufmerksam zu machen." (Quote by Hitler from Mein Kampf, printed on page 7 of this work: The art of the poster lies in the capability of the designer to get the attention of the mass through form and color).
