Original custom string-bound soft decorative burgundy paper boards with debossed blind-stamped illustration and gilt lettering on the front cover. Decorative interior covers in yellow. A collection of 10 issues of this Japanese military propaganda magazine, which is believed to have originally been published between the late 1930s and 1945. Each issue has photo-illustrated covers in color, with text in red. The contents of the magazines where printed on glossy paper, profusely illustrated throughout with images and maps, with offset reproductions in color as well as in b/w and sepia-toned images in gravure. The first page of each issue contains a relevant military maps, and the content includes information about training, military campaigns, and news about the operations of Japan's Axis allies (specifically Germany). The magazine also covers various economic and cultural issues as well.

Covers with some wear, small chips and some creasing along edges, and lightly rubbed. Starting at inside front cover, with some issues towards the back of the book block having become partially loose from the binding. The magazines in and of themselves are mostly still tightly bound. Magazines with light wear along edges. Covers in overall good-, interior in very good condition. Protected by modern mylar. Scarce. g- to vg. Item #44682
