Maidstone, Kent: 1989. Loose leaf. 8 1/4 X 11 1/2". This is a signed and illustrated typescript letter from acclaimed British artist and illustrator Ralph Steadman. The letter is addressed to a "Grahame", and references previous correspondence between the two men. Discussed are very good locations for accommodations around Kent, performances of Steadman's upcoming opera, The Plague and the Moonflower, and the artist's opinion on the state of the publishing industry; "the state of publishing is appalling". The bottom of the page has Steadman's signature and a drawing of a face, in black ink. At the top, is the date "11 Jan, 89'" and ink stamps of the artist's address in Maidstone, Kent and a winged figure of some kind. Minor water stains near the bottom of the page, otherwise in near fine condition. near fine. Item #44389
