Manzell: Dornier Werke, 1939. First edition. Paperback. Large Quarto. 40pp. Original light green wraps with brown lettering on cover. Title page with Dornier emblem. Published on the occasion of the dedication of the Dornier settlement in Manzell in 1939. The text elaborates on the Dornier strategy of building an "employee community" as the foundation for the success of the expanding aircraft manufacturer, including the education, training, social structure and housing of its employees. The text is in line with the typical Third Reich propaganda of the time, including direct thanks to the Führer Adolf Hitler for rebuilding the defense capacity of the German people.
The publication is illustrated with 32 pages of duo tone photogravures, ten of them full page, showing Dornier production facilities, educational and leisure activities of the personnel as well as photographs of the employee housing, including one architectural plan and one model of one of the Manzell settlements. There are three photographs showing the roofing ceremony of the settlement, with the Bavarian Prime Minster Siebert present, a company celebration, and a festive company celebration emphasizing the commitment of the workforce to the Führer and the German people, all three including NSDAP insignia.
