In the artists words "they are part of an on-going series created for focusing visual meditation, during times when one wishes to consciously direct the energy of one's spiritual work. One such period is the counting of the Omer, the seven weeks between the holiday of Passover, which celebrates our release from Egyptian slavery, and Shavuot, which marks the receiving of the Torah. The Omer is traditionally a time of self improvement and purification." Images are approximately 4" x 5", numbered by the Hebrew date of counting with text in English by Sarah Yehudit Schneider. The meditation text explores the seven lower emanations (from hesed to malkhut) in the Serifot.

Signed in pencil by the artist on numbered limitation page. Each leaf measures 7 3/4" x 14 3/4". Includes 12 page booklet "Additional Notes for Countdown to Perfection: Meditations on the Sefirot." Contents of booklet: Dedication / About this Book / About counting the Omer / How the Omer is counted / More on the Serifot / Tree of Life / About meditating on visual images / Glossary / Acknowledgments. Additional 3 text leafs: title-page, limitation page and page with System of Correspondences. "This book offers a unique experience by joining together - The tradition of Sefirot ha-Omer / counting the Omer, The opportunity to meditate on Kavannot / text that describe intentions for self-improvement and spiritual change, The contemplation of art images meant to comfort, inspire and assist your creative imagination during an inner journey of disciplined attention. For our purposes it is important to be aware that the relevance of these Omer meditations is not limited to the Omer period ( between Pesach and Shavuot). This book is offered as a way to use the sequential accounting of and examination of kabbalistic insights and qualities as a spiritual discipline to improve oneself at any time. Because they are also suitable to use for the traditional ritual counting the Omer, each page displays the proper Hebrew date of the calendar which corresponds to its associated day of the Omer. (Sarah Schneider)."
