London: Charles Tilt, 1835. First edition. Softcover. Duodecimo. 60pp. [20]. Housed in a custom red cloth slipcase with gilt lettering on the spine. Original illustrated beige stiff wrappers, with brown lettering on the covers and spine. Illustrated title-page. Following a humorous "proclamation" written under the pseudonym "Rigdum Funnidos" (a main character in Henry Carey's 1734 play "Chrononhotonthologos"), the almanac is illustrated throughout with 12 caricatures by Cruikshank, with his usual satirical flair and comic wit on full display. The final section contains 20 pages of advertisements. The early 20th century custom slipcase was produced by the acclaimed London-based bookbinding firm of Sangorski & Sutcliffe. Slipcase with some minor smudges and scratches. Wrappers with some light rubbing to extremities and light smudging to the covers. Interior with starting at a number of pages, and a few small creases and/or closed tears along the edges of a few pages.
