Catalog for the traveling exhibition (1949–1950) of the works of Franz Marc, including Stuttgart, Freiburg, Karlsruhe, Mannheim, Hamburg, Bremen, Köln, Göttingen, with the initial exhibition at the "Moderne Galerie Otto Stangl" in Munich. "The delirium about our wisdom will soon subside and art will become the great god, yes, the term god, art and religion will return; new symbols and legends will settle in our shattered hearts." (Franz Marc toward the end of his life; he was killed during the Battle of Verdun in 1916, before the order for reassignment could reach him.

Marc was one of the key figures of German Expressionism and a founding member of the Blaue Reiter. This catalog is illustrated with full page b/w reproductions of his work and includes a bibliography as well as a list of 83 exhibited artworks by Franz Marc. Last six pages, including back wraps, with illustrated advertisements. Text in German. Cover with small strips of sunning at top and bottom and slightly age toned.
