San Francisco: ca 1940s. This collection includes 2 original multicolored drawings in pastel by Jewish German architect Erich Mendelsohn, each measuring approx., 3 3/4 x 4 3/4" and mounted on folded white paper cards. Each card is inscribed in blue ink from Mendelsohn and his wife Louise, and were sent as season's greeting cards. Mendelsohn, who was known to be an exceptional and creative draftsman depicts San Francisco cityscapes in a slightly abstracted manner, with one being of the Golden Gate Bridge. The cards are accompanied by a folded 6-page photo-illustrated pamphlet from the University Art Museum of the University of California, Berkeley, "February/May 1969". Included in the pamphlet is a short piece on an exhibition of Mendelsohn's drawings. Pamphlets and drawings protected by modern mylar, and near fine condition overall. near fine. Item #43664
