Splendid photo album produced as a memorabilia following the June 1, 1963 gathering of the Spanish men's eights rowing team which competed at the 1924 Summer Olympics in Paris. The gathering event was initiated by Don José Martínez, Vice-President of the Real Club Maritimo, to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the team's participation at the Games of the VIII Olympiad.
The team was composed of Leandro Coll, Jaime Giralt, José Lasplazas, José Martinez, Ricardo Massana, Eliseo Morales, Enrique Pérez Soler, Juan Riba; and Luis Omedes.
The album contains 41 original silver gelatin prints documenting the Spanish team competing on the Seine River during the Paris Games, followed by a series of photographic reproductions of newspaper articles from 1924 and 1963, as well as photographs of the reunited team 40 years later.
The last 10 photographic reproductions show handwritten messages from all nine members of the rowing team, as well as from Juan Sedó i Peris-Mencheta, the president of the Maritime Club of Barcelona.
Each photograph measures appr. 9 1/2 x 7 1/4" and is pasted onto a tissue-guarded heavy cream cardstock.
