Color frontispiece showing the details of the ceiling of the patio at the Salamanca University. The book is a collection of 105 b/w plates (2 in color) of photographic reproductions and rendering of various aspects of the Spanish architecture and design styles. "This collection of one hundred and five plates divides itself into various groups, such as patios, doorways, windows, ironwork and other decorative motives. Examples have been selected from the fifteenth to the eighteenth centuries with particular emphasis laid on types that are especially applicable to modern work in this country. In order to give more information, the plates are often made up of motives taken from adjoining parts of one building, drawn in the proper scale and proportion." Plate 25 colored, as issued. Includes list of plates, title-page and one text page by W. L. Bottomley. Binding with rubbing and some light bumping to extremities. Spine sunned. Light smudges to the right edge of the book block. Interior with the bookplate of "Donald P. Journeaux" on the front free endpapers, was when as the name of the other previous owner in pen above it. Light sunning to the edges of pages throughout. Images unaffected. Binding in good+, interior in very good- condition overall. Protected by modern mylar. g+ to vg-. Item #43472
