The work is a finely produced collection of 10 photographic prints by the Catalan photographer Eduard Borras i Sotorra, made available in a limited quantity of 250 copies. This collection is copy #159. The work was produced to coincide with the exhibition of the photographer's work, titled "Eduard Borras i Sotorra, Fotograf Pioner 1882-1948" held at the Museu Comarcal Salvador Vilaseca, from April 21-May 1st 1994.
The collection includes 10 loose text plates, each bordered by lithographic floral motifs in green and purple, and a visual index plate, containing b/w reproductions of all ten prints in the collection, each with a caption detailing the contents of the photographs and the date they were taken, when available, printed on glossy paper. Each print is matted and measures approx.11x15" (prints measure 9.5x11"), with the limitation number in pencil below the print. Known dates of the photographs range from 1922-1926.
Also included with the collection is a 10 page stapled softcover booklet, containing a treatise on photography by Borras titled "Tractat Pràctic de Fotografia al Carbó", originating from 1902, and measuring approx. 15.5x11.5". The work contains numerous technical details on such subjects as exposure and photo development. Laid into the box is an original mailed photo-illustrated flier for the Eduard Borras exhibition. Box with light scratches and smudges to the covers. Light crease at the center of the right edge of the box. Initial title plate with a minor smudge in red. Minor bumping to the corners of the mats on a few prints. Box in very good+, interior, plates and prints in near fine to fine condition. vg+ to fine. Item #43442
