Frontispiece photograph. This monograph of the Swiss sculptor, architect and university teacher features his buildings from the 1964–1974 period. Förderer was one of the principal agent of the so-called neo-expressionistic churches of the 1960s. His exposed concrete buildings are attributed to the "Brutalismus" style derived from the French béton brut, a direction of architecture that features concrete in its original crude state. Förderer worked as an architect from the mid-fifties to 1978 and as a sculptor after that. Churches designed by Förderer are located in Baumberg, Lichtensteig, Chur and Rapperswil-Kempraten. The monograph is profusely illustrated with evocative b/w photographs and architectural plans and drawings throughout. Bibliography and photo-credits at rear. Text in French, English and German. light wear of dustjacket along edges and slightly rubbed. Minor age toning of block along edges not affecting images.
