An exhaustive monograph and biography of the painter, sculptor and theorist Antoni Tàpies (1923–2012). Tàpies became a member of the group Dau al Set in 1948, an avant-garde group with strong Surrealistic inclinations. He started to produce abstract and mixed media work in 1953 becoming part of the Art Informel movement and in the late 1960s and early 1970s started to produce work influenced by Pop Art. This monograph is profusely illustrated with inspiring reproductions of color and b/w photographs of Tàpies' art, including one color foldout, as well as personal motifs. Contains bibliography, index of his work, a list of exhibitions and museums which own his work at rear. Laid in two magazine articles on Tàpies' work. Light tear at gutter of inside front cover.
