The two-volume set is a comprehensive text and photographic study examining the remains of the Roman-era Fishbourne Palace in West Sussex, England. The site is considered the largest residential Roman structure discovered in Britain to date, and is known for its extensive and exceptional floor mosaics. Vol. 1 details aspects and physical features of the site itself, while vol.2 discusses the objects found at the site. The volumes are profusely illustrated throughout with in-text figures, including a number of of large fold-out topographic and stratographic maps, and contain a total of 117 plates of b/w photographic reproductions.
