Personal experiences of the men in the 756th Tank Battalion in W.W.II. Illustrated with four b/w reproductions of photographs. The 756th was mobilized in the summer of 1941, with only five Regular Army officers and approximately fifty Regular Army enlisted men... Two companies participated in the landing at North Africa in 1942. The rest of the Battalion joined two months later in the Casablanca area and proceeded across North Africa, making contact with Rommel's Forces, and ended up in Tunis, Tunisia. Following shortly thereafter, they began a campaign with a beach landing in Salerno, Italy,... was the first wave to hit southern France,... participated in the successful siege of the Siegfried line and the capture of Nürnberg, Munich and Berchtesgaden, Germany. At the end of the war the Battalion was stationed in Salzburg, Austria. New, in slipcase. Item #43299
