Frontispiece portrait. Elaborate account of Norton's experience heading a regiment in the Mexican War, 1846–1848, his years as a miner, mining claim owner, and later as a lawyer in Placerville, and finally his early years in upper Canada, including fighting in the rebellions of 1837 and 1838, his years in Illinois and travels in the Eastern U.S. Light wear along edges of binding, spine evenly sunned. Block slightly age toned and J9 penciled in red to upper right corners of back free endpaper and inside back cover. Binding in overall good, interior in very good condition. g to vg. Item #42973
