This first edition of Federico Johow's botanical history of the Juan Fernández islands located 415 miles (667 km) west off the coast of Chile, provides valuable information on the flora of the archipelago which consists of 441 vascular plants, of which 209 are native (125 of them endemic) and 232 are aliens.
This work is complete with its 18 photogravure plates at rear, as well as its two maps.
