This edition of the Greek Testament is a reprint of Theodore Beza's fourth major edition of 1598 (Darlow and Moule, No. 4654).
Only two variations occur in the Greek text; but some annotations have been added. Includes at rear the Commentary of Joachim Camerarius (or Liebhard, 1500-1574), the celebrated classical scholar and biographer of Melanchthon, first published in 1552-56.
Text printed in three parallel columns: 1) Greek, 2) Beza's Latin version, 3) Vulgate. With marginal references and summary, annotations, etc.. (See Darlow and Moule, No. 4686).
Binding heavily rubbed along edges, with closed tears along joints and head and tail of spine partly chipped. Offsetting on inside of each front cover. Contemporary previous owner's inscription in Latin at upper margin of front free endpaper. Upper corner of title partly chipped (not affecting lettering). Lower fore-edge of title page creased (also not affecting lettering). Minor age-toning along paper edges. Text in Latin and Greek.
