Top edge in black. Pages uncut. The publication is an autobiography of the American actor William H. Crane, covering his career on both stage and screen. Includes a selection of b/w photographic reproductions of various moments throughout Crane's life, including a frontispiece portrait. The book includes a signed and dated letter from the author on the letterhead of the Hotel Hollywood (the location of his death, less than a year later), pasted on at the interior front cover. Also included are a group of contemporary newspaper clippings dealing with the Crane's death, a condolence telegram to his widow and a thank you reply from his wife, all laid in at the front cover. Binding with some light bumping to corners and head & tail of the spine. Sunning along the spine. Interior with some offsetting as a result of the material laid in at the interior front cover. Age toning to free front endpapers, the half-title and the title page. Minor foxing along the edges of some of the photographic plates, with images unaffected.
