Special edition of the magazine "Neues Bauen." Illustrated with b/w reproductions of architectural photographs, drawings and plans. The buildings represented in this collection are a administrative building, baths and sanatoriums, retreats, castles and villas, schools, and designs for four architectural competitions, and residential settlements. Includes architectural drawings for a sanatorium in Parbin, Manchuria, and a sanatorium for the mentally ill in Bogota, Columbia, with plans. The firm was founded in 1889 and is known for its designs in Historicism, Art Nouveau (Jugendstil) and early Modernism. One of the firm's most important works was the Church of Christ in Dresden-Strehlen, considered to be the first modern church in Germany following the era of architectural Historicism. Contains eighteen pages and inside back cover with full or half page advertisements for Dresden architects and applied arts businesses. Text in German. Wraps with very light wear.
