The fascinating publication espouses the author'spersonal philosophy and contains musing by Lazarus on human nature, and comparisons of human behavior, social organizations and psychology to the natural world, specifically plants and animals. The book was supposed to be the first volume in a series, but was the only one ever published. Includes the a fold-out chart created by the author to describe "The Course of Social Movements. Succession and Relation of its Four Phases and Thirty-Two Periods." The last page contains a list of other works by the author. Binding with some rubbing, scratches and smudging.
