Deluxe edition of this splendid monograph on Sir Henry Raeburn (1756-1823), a renown Scottish portrait painter and Scotland's first significant portrait painter since the Union to remain based in Scotland. Raeburn's notoriety was such that he served as portrait painter to King George IV.

Its companion volume is a striking portfolio of 66 plates printed on India paper. The mounts for the plates measure 15 x 11.4" (38cm x 29cm); the printed images themselves vary in size, but are typically about 7.5 x 6" (19cm by 15cm). Each of the 66 plates is tissue-guarded.
