Ébredj Anglia! (Wake Up England!)

[Budapest]: NP, ND (ca 1940-41). First edition. Softcover. Oblong octavo (7 1/8 x 9 1/2"). Unpaginated. [6]pp. Original illustrated wrappers.

Scarce pro-Nazi and anti-British propaganda work published in the early stages of WWII, when England was driven out of the continent following the disastrous Battle of France.

This booklet consists of a long two folded sheet containing 29 captioned humorous cartoons revisiting European history after the Versailles Treaty, and blaming England for the dismembering of Hungary. It praises Nazi Germany for abrogating the Versailles "Diktat" by force of arms, and for protecting Hungary.

The second part of the cartoons blames Churchill for England's military debacle, and for the bombing of British cities by Nazi planes.

The ending message is a warning to the British people: Peace will only return to Great Britain when you get rid of your "warmongering" politicians sold to "International Jewry."

Faint folding crease at center. Captions in Hungarian. Wrappers and interior in overall very good condition. vg. Item #42315

Price: $600.00
