Kutyából nem lesz szalonna! A Zsidoból nem lesz soha magyar! (That dog will not become a bacon! A Jew will never become a Hungarian)

NP: NP, 1930s. First edition. Oblong Quarto. Broadside. Original tan broadside with black lettering, protected by modern mylar. Undocumented, anti-Semite poster without credits. Though the publisher remains unknown it is likely that a so-called Hungarist group could be responsible, possibly a precursor to Ferenc Szállasi's Arrow Cross Party. The poster mixes anti-Semite and anti-Bolshevik rhetoric and refers to the Hungarian Soviet Republic as a Jewish-Bolshevik conspiracy.

The Text of the broadside in English Translation:

When he says: I'm Hungarian, he smiles derisively. When he claims to be a Christian, he rubs his hand with satisfaction and guffaws joyously over good business, as the cross is a brilliant business for him. A converted Jew is nothing but a wolf in sheep's clothing. Today the Jew is nationalistic but when a catastrophe hits Hungary, he jumps out of bed like the fleas: Vilmos Böhm* and Pollák (pagan) Napoleon.**

The Jewish race has two faces:

The Szamuely-face,*** who jags his dagger into the hated Christian, and in case he doesn't succeed, he changes to the Vázsonyi-face,**** stating that we're all brothers, urging to stay calm.

You, Hungarians should finally learn, that dogs will not become a bacon!

Text in Hungarian. Light wear along edges of broadside. Overall in very good condition. Item #42144

* Vilmos Böhm, the People's Commissar of War during the Hungarian Soviet Republic

** Pollák (Pogány) Napoleon, József/Joseph Pogány, also known as John Pepper, born as Schwartz. The poster unambiguously aims to refer to his Polish-Jewish origins, and Napoleon to his involvement in the Hungarian Red Army, his physique, and his literary career as playwright writing a drama with this title

*** Tibor Szamuely, the ferocious People's Commissar for Military Affairs

****Vilmos Vázsonyi, an anti-Bolshevik, liberal politician.
