Dated May 15, 1884, this work is an illustrated trade catalogue for shotguns, breech and muzzle loading guns, revolvers, gunsmithing tools, and other related sporting goods for dogs and hunting from New York City's manufacturers' agent and importer, John W. Hutchinson.

The gun manufacturers represented in the catalogue include William Moore & Co., Wm. P. Scott, C. G. Bonehill, Isaac Hollis & Sons, J. Stevens & Co., J. P. Clabrough & Bros., Samuel Buckley & Co., P. Webley & Son, Smith & Wesson, and Colt's [Patent Firearms Manufacturing Company].

Hutchinson's catalogue was intended for the retail trade only. To encourage their mutual trade, Hutchinson's catalogue offered 60-day terms, and 2% discounts for cash received within ten days from date of bill.

This splendid catalogue is complete with its three inserts laid in:

- A separate "Trade Discounts" list

- A "Job Lot List" for Breech-Loading Guns (both also dated May 15, 1884).

- The third insert is printed on pink paper, and advises the customer to: "Examine the net prices carefully, and you will find they average lower than any other Gun House. Will make you special quotations on Cartridges, Shells and Primers on application."

Illustrated throughout with thirteen engravings depicting a Wm. P. Scott American Field Gun (1), breech loading double guns (4), revolvers (6), various firearm related articles (1), and a top snap breech loader (1).

Folding crease at center. Small stain at lower margin of front cover. Lower half of back cover slightly age-toned. Catalogue and lists in overall very good condition. g+ to vg. Item #41802
