A Bibliography of James Joyce Studies

Boston: G. K. Hall & Co., 1977. Second, Revised and Enlarged. Hardcover. Large quarto (11 x 8 1/2"). XII, 264, [2]pp. Original burgundy cloth, with gold lettering to spine.

This second, revised and enlarged edition of "A Bibliography of James Joyce Studies" lists in alphabetical arrangement no less than 5,885 unannotated entries.

"In this volume, the author takes the 1964 first edition to December 1973, combining the old first edition with materials from 1961 to 1973. Besides the accumulated materials of the 12-year period, about 770 items from the pre-1961 period have been added, at least half of these through the efforts of Alan M. Cohn. Other items have been supplied during the past decade by Joyce scholars and friends who have written [the author] of omissions, corrections and additions.

The total number of entries reaches 5,885 owing largely to the addition of three new sections to this second edition: "Reviews of Joyce's Works"; "Dissertations"; and "Musical Settings, Theatrical Productions, Films, Radio Broadcasts, and Recordings." Most annotations of items, a worthwile feature of the first edition, have been omitted; the sacrifice of this information should be compensated for by the greater completeness of this edition." (From the author's Preface).

Binding and interior in overall very good condition. vg. Item #41752
