Illustrated with 52 photogravure plates, this two-volume set by French Coptologist, archaeologist and Egyptologist Emile Amélineau (1850-1915) is his own report of the excavations of the tombs of the First Dynasty pharaohs of Ancient Egypt him and his team undertook at Abydos in 1897-1898.
Volume 1 has the following issues: binding partly rippled and water-stained. Front hinge starting, with water-staining along inner gutter of very first leaves (not affecting text), and some mildew to plates XXII to XXVIII. One leaf detached but present.
