Original green quarter cloth portfolio with string ties and black lettering in printed yellow box with art nouveau decor and publisher's device on cover. Set of instructions and visual aids to teach art to children in school and at home to develop their manual skills and imagination. Booklet with instructions and suggestions for each of the 37 plates included. The plates show images in color (chromolithographs) and b/w to be used for working with various mediums, e.g. work with paper of different strength, bookbinding, wire, work with wood and jigsaw, enamel and various painting techniques, work with clay or plaster, etc. A six page appendix gives instructions on how to combine the suggestions of the book on drawing, entitled "Wegweiser," with this title.
The title was developed by senior teacher Teubner at the seminary in Oschatz, Saxony. Text in German, gothic script. Portfolio with sunning along edges, some creasing on front and some soiling on back cover. Light age-toning of visual aids. Portfolio in overall good, interior in very good condition. g to vg.
