Disturbing account of the 1919 Ukraine pogroms (a.k.a. Kiev pogroms), which took place in various districts around Kiev and were carried out by Cossacks, the White Armies, and a small percentage of Bolsheviks. The Ukraine pogroms proved the first of many. It is estimated that between 30,000 and 70,000 Jews were murdered across the Ukraine during that time. Published for the Jewish People's Relief Committee in America. Front and back boards with some smudging and scratches. Rubbing to head, tail and hinges of spine, as well as to corners and along edges. Foxing to interior front cover, and p.408, rear free endpaper, interior back cover and sporadically along the edges of some pages. Binding in overall good-, interior in good+ condition. g- to g+.
