This work was published on the occasion of an "Exhibition of German art from 1775 to 1875" held in 1906 at the National Gallery of Berlin. A first volume was published, which contained a collection of reproduction of the more important paintings, with brief introductory text, followed by a second volume (our copy), which is the actual catalogue of the complete exhibition, with 1137 b/w in-text and full-page illustrations, and brief text.
Slipcase sunned, partly water-stained, and rubbed along edges. Dust-jacket slightly age-toned along spine, with minor and sporadic closed tears and chipping along edges. Upper corner of pages slightly bumped (not affecting text or images). Text in German. Slipcase in overall fair, dust-jacket in good, binding and interior in good+ to very good condition. f to vg.
