The 256 full-page photogravures document different tribes and cultures, individual portraits, villages, the tattooing of a Jarawa woman, the Kanuris playing dice, a tournament in Dikwa (Nigeria), splendid landscapes such as the Victoria Falls of the Zambezi, the Uluguru Mountains, the Archaen rock cones in the Namib Desert, etc..
